The reef of Pothitos is created by the extension of the island to the west. The head of the reef is very hard to spot with untrained eyes. The surface current is always a pleasant surprise for those who choose to dive here.

A few metres deeper and the diver will be fascinated by the sudden change in depth and can "free fall" into the blue. Naturally, the place is famous for its schools of small and larger fishes that seek shelter on the reef.

Is offers a wonderful dive besides the colourful (from sponges) vertical wall, whilst more advanced divers can follow the major steps of the reef into the depths.

Look! The deep part of the reef is home to the biggest fish that appear much more imposing at depth. You will also find large schools of saddled seabream (Oblada melanura), combers (Sarpa salpa), dusky groupers and groupers.
